Festival 2016

Wild Shore New Music presents adventurous new chamber music in south-central Alaska and explores how art engages the natural world in all its beauty and danger.

In August 2016, Wild Shore joined forces with the National Park Service to celebrate its Centennial, and reflect on its mission of preservation and conservation through instrumental music. Wild Shore presented concerts in Alaska, New York City, and Washington D.C. Working with composers from across the country,

Wild Shore presented a varied and compelling program that considered the National Park Service mission of preservation and conservation: How does instrumental music make us stop, look, and listen, while also modeling ways to move through and play with nature? Listen to and reflect on the age-old struggle to use and understand the natural world in all its beauty and danger.
