For its 12th season, Wild Shore New Music honors acclaimed composer Eve Beglarian, whose fearless and genre-defying work explores themes of place, identity, and belonging. Known for her bold, innovative spirit, Beglarian has been praised for her sensuality and experimentation. The Los Angeles Times called her a “humane, idealistic rebel,” while the New York Times lauded her ability to translate landscapes into evocative music. At the center of the 2025 season is a new commission developed during Beglarian’s May residency at Bunnell Street Arts Center in Homer, Alaska, and her travels through the interior up to Fairbanks inspired by the region’s landscape and cultural richness.

The program will also feature earlier works by Beglarian, including Peggy in the Twilight and a new interpretation of Wolf Chaser, which incorporates a traditional Inupiaq whale baleen tool gifted to the composer.

This is the final performance of Wild Shore’s season — closing out a fall 2025 Alaska tour through Homer, Anchorage, and Fairbanks — and a rare chance to hear these works in dialogue with New York’s contemporary music community.
